2,000 years ago, one Man PWNed death, hell and the grave, utterly humiliating them in their defeat and displaying them as His captives. That Man? Jesus of Nazareth, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and God of Gods, the Lamb of God and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. The Guy who used Satan as an object lesson for "How to PWN an Enemy-101."

2008/07/23 Apparently, this is the most popular piece in my entire gallery. 0_0 Somehow, that is VERY appropriate. Anyway~ Thanks to ~nintendo-junkie for the idea - I made a PLZ account fake-stamp for those of you without subs, since this stamp is so popular.

War. War never changes. Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything, from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.
:iconsupergrouper:
Oh, yes. :) He endured hardship to beat the enemy, rescued the captives and saved the girl. :) The church is referred to as "the Bride of Christ," so there's even the love story element of Him rescuing the girl and marrying her. ...it would be a GREAT movie.

I recently found out what it means: the basic meaning of it is to defeat someone so badly that they are utterly and completely humiliated. It was originally a gaming term. I think that it's about the only English term that captures the original meaning of Colossians 2:15-
"And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." In ancient times, when a king defeated another king in battle, he stripped him naked and paraded him around his former kingdom in chains to show his defeat and utterly humiliate him in front of his previous subjects. The language in the Greek of Colossians 2:15 refers to this. Basically, Jesus disarmed Satan and paraded him around hell, broadcasting his defeat and utterly humiliating him.

While PWN isn't as strong a word as the intention of the verse, it's about the closest term we have in English to the idea of how badly Jesus beat Satan. There really isn't a word in English strong enough to describe how badly defeated and utterly humiliated Satan was when Jesus defeated him and led him captive in a victory procession, but PWN is pretty close and carries a similar concept. Also, I find the idea of describing Jesus with gamer's netspeak is pretty cool. I'm a computer geek, so it makes sense to tie that in with my relationship with God.

I couldn't find a stamp that said something quite like this, so I made my own. Jesus, the ultimate hero, and the greatest victor! He destroyed the power of death through death and became the destruction of the grave (Hosea 13:14.) No one has been or ever will be as much of a victor as He is! =D
